So I've made it thru the first week of getting back to things.. it was kind of fun-- & funny .. & yes -it was a series of "baby steps" triumphs .
I managed to stick to eating healthy .. even ended up buying a whole chicken to eat the breast off it on the way home from Costco with the kids! ~lol~
let me tell you... avoiding the samples in there was HARD! akk! :P
Getting in workouts was a bit more of a challenge seeing as the kids were still home, & then I had to go back to silly work.. but I managed to get creative..
one eve at work, I did a body weight work out on my break & another - I took one of my girlfriends out for a 45 min speed walk up & down around the hospital grounds on our dinner break..& let me tell you for me this was something 'cause it was COLD!!!
but we talked & caught up while we went ..so it was good !
Yesterday we all went for a HUGE bike ride down the hill from us - thru some trails & up some more hills !! We did this since Stevie had got his " new bike" that he had desperately been wanting with his Xmas money & we had a decent day to try it! :D
again.. it was cold but really kinda fun & cool involving the kids & Jamie in my "cardio" .
& best of all - I even managed to say a very assertive "no thanks" to the orange cake * droool* that someone had brought into work last night.. & ate my veggies instead..
So all in all a really good week!! .. still don't really wanna talk about numbers or weights.. just trying to keep my hand hold on the "wagon!"
Thanks all for you words of wisdom & encouragement.. I've enjoyed & leaned on them this week!

Well look at you! Sounds like you're doing pretty good. Don't worry about the numbers or the weight, just do the work and you'll be smiling at those numbers in no time!
Thanks for posting a comment on my blog, and for the mom sympathy. I can't wait to get home tomorrow and smooch the Beauties!
Awesome Job, Pamela!!!!! Congrats on passing up the orange cake.
The bike ride with the family sounds like fun!!!!! I guess the weather is nicer nowadays?
I like your creative workouts. Keeping things fun...
I think just getting started is always the hardest part and I would say it was a great week for you if you managed to give up "orange cake"! Good for you!
I think you are doing awesome! Baby steps are the best ones and I am right there with ya! Funny, I took my kiddos on a bike ride the other day as well :>
And good job on the passing of the cake! I know how hard it is to turn work food down :>
Keep it up!!
I wish you were my work buddy and we could go for walks in the cold! No one here motivates me to do that.
The way you are approaching this is the way I want to live= where the activity is just part of my life. Unfortunately, I've go to get to a maintenance place to afford that right now.
Orange cake sucks, right?
Looks like 2007 is off to a great start for you! Baby steps is definitely the key. And good job on passing up the cake!
Everything looks great. Saying no to cake is tough!
Way to start off the new year. Hang tough!
Way to stick with it, Pamela! Isn't it amazing how all the baby steps seem so big, and so many? UG! Awesome job saying No! to the cake! Keep up the dedication! Spring break is just around the corner! (Picture time)

Sounds like you did a fantastic job this week, congrats!!!!
It's so hard to get into a groove when the kids aren't back in school yet, but sounds like you found a way to make it work.
YAAAAAY YOU!!! :D
GOOOOOOOOOOOO LALA!! You're doing great!! Here's a BIG pat on the back for passing on the orange cake!! You'll thank yourself when the numbers start dropping! Keep it up chica!
Just wanted to say hi! Glad things are going well so far... baby steps are for sure the best way to go when you're having a hard time getting started again... although I can't help but think of the movie "What about Bob?" when I think about baby steps... I guess that kind of helps me keep my sense of humor about things too, LOL.
PAMELA! You wonderful, wonderful person you! Thanks for your kind words and consistent hellos!
I'm out of the loop so it will take me a while to catch up but wanted to say hi in the meantime...thanks for keeping me in the loop while I was gone!
Big HUGS!
