Determination..or pure dumb luck..

don't know which of them it was.. but I'm feeling better.. I suppose a whack of Vit C, echinacea, Neocitran & a couple nights of actually getting to sleep at a decent hour probably helped! ~ Lol~

So needless to say whatever it was that I was fighting all last week seems to have turned tail & run. & today I feel pretty much human..
So I thought I'd post something new that wasn't all dreary!
I went to the gym this Am & did a 20 min HIIT followed by another 40 min steady state. & it felt Great!

I know tomorrow I should go do weights , but it seems lately I'm really uninspired about the endless , mindless "up down, up down " of all that- at least after cardio you're feelin sweaty & like you DID something.. or at least with the readout on the machines it tells you you "went" somewhere!

I wish there was someway to find something to excite me about doin the weights again..to be Gung ho about every workout day ...instead of just mostly going thru the motions..
anyone have any bright ideas??

Plan some rewards for yourself. Maybe you get a gold star for every weight workout you do, and 5 gold stars = something good that you want, and maybe 20 gold stars = something good that you REALLY want!

Incentives work when they're designed right. They have to be short-term enough to feel do-able, and worth it enough to get you to do something you wouldn't ordinarily do.

I think it ran right into my lap! Funny thing, I can only do cardio, no weights and I cannot wait to do that mindless, up and down thing. I feel "skinny fat" you know all mushy and stuff.

What is so funny is that I read your post and thought "Leslie needs to get over here and write something" and then I looked down, and Leslie was the first person to respond.

My suggestion is good music....I lift better with some good music blasting in my ears. Also, try visualizing your "new" body while you lift...it does make it more fun and helps to remind you WHY you are doing it!

Sundie,Leslie, Eileen, Christie... THANKS! Great ideas & giggles..
& I guess all I can say is Duh! funny how sometimes you can forget the basics..like the idea of finding a "treat" & aiming for it..& things like when I used to do all my weights at home & would put on AC/DC or something equally 'Heavy' ~lol~
So .. yep I guess it's time to get back to basics

the nasty cellulite I spotted on my thighs one day after getting out of the shower did it for me - really made me realize that I can cardio and eat good, but still need muscle to fill it all in...LOL

Glad to hear you are feeling better!
